Scientific American Archive

UC campuses now have access to the Scientific American Archive as well as the Supplement issues and Builders Edition issues on the Scientific American platform. This valuable resource consists of high-quality scans of more than 133,000 articles published in Scientific American from 1845-2005. You can browse the issues, read entire issues as PDF files, and search across the full archive. As noted by the publisher, these archive collections "provide unique insight into historic breakthroughs in science, technology, medicine and architecture."

The UC Riverside Library is now offering BrowZine, a tablet app that allows you to browse, read and monitor many of the library’s scholarly journals, in a format optimized for the tablet reading experience.
Download the BrowZine app free from iTunes, Google Play or the Amazon App store. When initially launching BrowZine, select University of California Riverside from the drop down list, enter your NetID and password and start exploring!
The app simulates the experience of browsing your favorite journals on a bookshelf.

  • Browse and read journals by subject, or search by journal title.
  • Easily review tables of contents, and download full articles.
